Day 25 – Do It For Them

Matthew 7:12 “Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behavior: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them. Add up God’s Law and Prophets and this is what you get.”

Give honor to whom honor is due. It seems here that honor is due to all except us, as far as we are concerned. Well, what God is trying to communicate here is that we ought to think more highly of others. I love the way this scripture states it. Think about the things you would want done for you, think about the way you would want to be honored and blessed, think about all that you would want lavished on you and lavish it on others.

My wife does this in a cute way. I always know when she is hurting, because instinctively, she’ll start rubbing me where she hurts. What she needs at the time is healing touch. Her instinct is to give what she wants to receive. That’s the power of living.
